How Normal Phone Chargers Work

When you plug your phone in charger & attach a charging cable to it, a certain amount of current flows in from the charger through the cable, to your phone and starts to charge the battery. Your phone includes a built-in regulator to prevent being too much power to flow into the battery and scorching it. So, we can say that your phone’s charger can charger as fast as your phone’s charger allow it and is limited by what its internal regulators allow. For example, Apple's iPad charger (basic model), puts out 2.1 amps at 5V. However, a typical USB 2.0 port will charge at 0.5 to 1.5 amps.

How Fast Chargers and Cables Work

Fast charging refers to the technology where you're using a Quick Charge 2.0 device, what it is basically doing is letting through more power in by pumping more current while being regulated at the same time. We already know that the regulator inside your phone only allows a definite amount power in at a time.

Quick Charge devices allow more than your normal chargers, without damaging the battery. So, while an older device might only support a 5 volt, 1 amp charger, Quick Charge devices can use a 9 volt, 2 amp charger. This is where quick charging cables come into play and gembonics cables are the best choice.

Quick Charging Cable- Time to Upgrade

The amount of current your charging cable can carry is coordinated by the size of the 2 5V wires running inside it. A standard cable is 28 gauge and is capable of about 0.5A, this is the standard charge rate. A faster charger cable has larger internal wires – that can carry larger currents of 2A or even more which makes fast charging possible.

Gembonics cables are the best choice when it comes to quick charging your devices. The type of technology used differs by a manufacturer to manufacturer but Qualcomm’s Quick Charge is one of the most common and well known and the introduction of the USB Type-C standard has enabled USB power delivery to become a great bargain in fast charging technology because it allows for increased power levels.

Generally speaking a quick charging through a quick charging cable will fill your battery with power in less time than the standard charger so it means it’s definitely time to upgrade to a fast-changing cable and gembonics cables are the best choice in this department.

There are many generic cables available in the market, literally, the choice is unlimited. You can buy any cable to charge up your smartphone, but as we have learned that, many of them have been designed to only send a small amount of current through the cable to a phone’s battery. When you go out to market to buy one make sure you buy gembonics cable because gembonics cables are the best choice.

They have been made to carry more current so that the battery charging equipment inside your phone can be used to its maximum capacity.
